Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using MapClue products and services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MapClue's website (mapclue.com) or any MapClue product, including the GeoSherlock browser extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MapClue. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of MapClue services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
MapClue provides AI-powered geographic reasoning tools, including:
GeoSherlock: A Chrome browser extension that analyzes street-level photography using the Anthropic Claude API to identify geographic clues and return calibrated region probability estimates.
MapClue Dashboard: A web application providing account management and access to MapClue products.
Additional products and features may be added to the MapClue platform over time. These Terms apply to all current and future MapClue products unless otherwise noted.
3. User Accounts
Account Creation: To access certain features, you must create a MapClue account by providing your name, email address, and a password. You agree to provide accurate and complete information.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Account Termination: You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to create a MapClue account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Use of Claude AI / Third-Party APIs
GeoSherlock requires a valid Anthropic Claude API key to function. By using GeoSherlock, you acknowledge and agree:
- You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining your own Anthropic API key.
- Your use of the Anthropic API is subject to Anthropic's Terms of Service and usage policies.
- All API costs associated with GeoSherlock use are your responsibility, billed by Anthropic directly to your account.
- MapClue is not affiliated with Anthropic and makes no representations about the availability, accuracy, or capabilities of the Claude AI models.
- You will not use GeoSherlock to circumvent or abuse the Anthropic API, including exceeding rate limits or using the API in ways that violate Anthropic's terms.
